Race Discrimination

In June 2009, the company where I was employed hired a Caucasian intern for the summer. During this time, it became clear to me that the managers were preparing the Caucasian employee for my position. The Caucasian employee was included in meetings for my position and the managers explained various job functions to the Caucasian employee that were never explained to me. Instead, the managers created a hostile work environment for me by making false claims about my competence to perform my job functions, excluding me from office meetings and providing little to no form of communication regarding my job functions. It appeared they were conspiring to terminate my employment or force me to resign. On 6/11 I was terminated and on 6/15, the Caucasian employee was officially hired permanently for my position. Prior to this when the previous building I worked in was up for sale, I was interviewed for the same position that I currently held. To my knowledge, none of the white employees were interviewed for their positions. I was the only employee interviewed twice and subjected to different terms and conditions.

I believe I was discriminated against based on the disparate treatment of myself and the white intern by the managers and the planning and hiring of the Caucasian intern after I was terminated. Also, the hoops I had to go through when no other white employee had been subjected to the same treatment. Additionally the treatment of other African Americans in similar fashion.

Relative to the hiring of the intern, the fact that s/he was of a different race does not automatically mean she was hired full-time and you were terminated because of your race.

For the other situations you mentioned in your post, however, you're certainly free to file a complaint with either the EEOC or whatever the district calls its equivalent.
