NEED LAST MINUTE HELP? IF ANY CAN BE GAVEN
OK, first of all, is my Testimony- And then what the officer's report says.
The whole thing is, that I wasn't racing, but because of the cops view of dead ahead, even I would mistake it for that.

TESTIMONY-I had intended to go to Safe Way and get something to drink and a box of donuts. I got into my car and back out of the parking spot. As I was backing out, the kid in the grey Honda zoomed across the back of my car, causing me to stop in the midst of backing. Once I straightened my wheels out, I saw ahead at the end of the parking lot that the guy was doing donuts and burning his tires off. (Which from the officers view I guess he didn't see.) So I waited until the guy had stopped burning his tires off and went around him on the left side, when I was driving by him he revved his engine and I continued passed him. I was just going to turn west bound on to NE Siskiyou street when the kid in the grey Honda cut in front of me just as I was pulling out, almost clipping my driver side quarter panel. I was already in the turn and he zoomed ahead about 15 feet, just about 2 feet before the first speed bump. I continued to stay in my lane, and head west bound as if I was normally accelerating. When the guy spun his tires and came over into my lane a little bit, so I stopped, not right next to him, not enough to even see his face. I continued to accelerate, because I couldn't tell what he was going to do. When I accelerated forward the kid in the grey Honda revved his engine really loud, spun his tires, and swerved to the left and then to the right, and I slowed down. He took off and I was slowing down from 5MPH to travel over the first speed bump. Because of the height clearance of my car in the front and on the sides, I am not able to go over speed bumps at more then 5 MPH. I have to crawl over the speed bumps on Siskiyou. I had intended to go over the two speed bumps I know I could clear and then to 79th street and from there to Fremont street to go toward Safe Way, because after 79th street, the speed bumps are longer and higher, it's impossible for me to go over without scrapping my body kit. I had taken this route more then once. So after the kid in grey Honda toke off I had just gotten on the first speed bump, and made it to the next one. The kid in the grey Honda was still accelerating, so I assumed he was probably just showing off how fast his car was. Right after I got my two front wheels over the 2nd speed bump, I saw police lights in front of me to the right come on, the kid in the grey Honda was already passed him by then and the officer turned on his lights and made a wide turn, and ended up having to reverse and then accelerate after the grey Honda. Once I saw the police officers lights I pulled right over, I did slam on my brakes, but not enough to make noise, because seeing the cop in front of me and his lights on I wasn't sure if he was coming at me, because I hadn't seen him there until his lights were on. I pulled over and watched the officer turn down one of the streets to pursue the grey Honda. I sat there for a minute and then backed up and turned down 79th street. I didn't think I had done anything wrong so I wasn't worried about it. Little did I know I needed to worry about it.

The next morning I woke up to a knock on the door from two officers. (Do not remember their names. The officer closet to the door said, "Blake?".
I answered, "Yes…?"
The officer said, "Do you know why I am here?"
I said, "No."
He asked, "Can I come inside?"
I answered, "Sure come in."
As he walked through the door he asked, "Are your parents home?"
I answered back, "No they are at work."
The officer said, "Blake, I am here because I know you raced your car yesterday, do you want to tell me what happened?", (I am 80% sure he said, "Do you want to tell me what happened, or do I need to put you in the back of my car and then you tell me?", but he could of said "take you down town…not sure exactly what wording was used.)
I said, "I had stopped because the guy was revving his engine and was in the wrong lane, I didn't even see the guy's face."
The officer said, "Well there was a pre-school right down the street and you guys could have hit one of them, and then how would you feel, you know."
I said, "I never intended on racing him, I never even broke the speed limit, never even got above 20 MPH, the guy was next to me, and I didn't know what his intent was, so I stuck my arm out as far as I could to wave him to go ahead.."
The officer said, "Well what are we supposed to think when you come out here with your "Fast and The Furious" shirt on, and you can't go unnoticed with a "Pimped" car like that." He pulled out a wad of papers and ripped off a ticket, he then said, "Well here is you ticket, your court date is right here."(as he point to the date of appearance.)
They turned around, (the other officer never said anything), and I asked, "Will this ticket make me lose my license?"
The officer half way out the door said, "I don't know, how long have you had it?"
I said " About 1 week and 6 months."
The officer said, " It's possible, they might."
I said, " Oh, well sorry to bring you guys out here."
The officer said, "It's alright, its our job, don't be doing that stuff, you might hurt somebody, bye Blake."

That's as best I remember it word for word, I was a little startled to wake up to police at my door, haven't had that happen and I was a little shaken up, so that's as best as I can remember it.
After that I guess they called my dad and talked to him explaining what happened and that they came to the house and talked to me.

OFFICER REPORT-Since I have now since lost the report, I have almost memorized that important details.
Some are these.
At "a certain time", on this date"----"
"I Saw two cars headed WB, one in the WB lane, Blake, and the other in the EB lane, I then saw smoke, after closing 1/2 3/4's the distance Blake jammed on his brakes and turned.
After a short pursuit the other driver was arrested and sent to jail, after asking around school and reconizing that the car belonged to a MHS student, the driver was found to be Blake C., I proceed the next morning to Blake's house and he admitted to me that "he had been challenged by the other driver" and that he never got above 20MPH." Blake Cited.

So, tomarrow morning I will burn hard for somthing I did not do, and had no intention of doing...I have asked for a continuence already, and then was prepared to go to court when teh officer asked for one instead the 2nd time around... I am only 16, and at the time I had, had my lisence for 6 months and 10 days...and this was on the last day of school... 2 Attorneys said that I am pretty much screwed because now days, the officers wont make deals, and the gudges and officers both want to make revenue, and put little punks like me(even though I am innocent) in their places...

Thank you for taking the time to read this...

Case Dismissed!

Blake Clayton Acquitted of all charges !!!!!!

"NOT GUILTY"

At 8:50am, on the 6th floor Blake Clayton appeared in Multnomah County Court. He represented himself (and he was no FOOL), on the charge of engaging in a"Speed Contest". He was wearing a very dapper business suit and was prepared with a flip-chart pictorial of the scene in question. He represented himself like a pro. All the police who were there for other cases put down their newspapers and were drawn to the well dressed 16 yr old, as he stated his case. The judge ruled that the STATE had not proven the burden of proof and deemed the young Blake Clayton "Not Guilty".

After leaving the court, the police officer met Blake in the hall and shook his hand and said...."Well presented"......Then rode the elevator to the ground floor and smiled and laughed. Blake assured the police officer that he had enough time this summer worrying about insurance and loss of license that he will be a better driver in the future.

My dad wrote this e-mail...the officer read word for word off of his sheet, and I brought my flip chart and made it seem like I was innocent...which I was... :D and the judge said, the stat hasn't proven bruden of proof, too many uanswered questions, and the other guy could have raced himself, but it does take two to tango he said, and that it's possible since his car is too low that he could have not been able to make it over speed bumps...Mr.Clayton...your a free man, and I left, walked up to the officer, and shook his hand.

Very good! Probably one of the best educations you could have, and you showed some class in the process.
