Stop sign woman

I just received a ticket for running a stop sign. I was aware that I ran, but I drive down this road often, and it's a new stop sign. I have seen the stop sign before, but it's easy to forget that it's there. There is a lot of construction around the intersection (it's a T-intersection, kind of) and e stop sign is smaller than average and kind of high up. When driving, difficult to stop, even with good brakes, because the road is going downhill and the stop sign is at the end of the hill, not only that, but there is a yield sign right in front of it (less than 10 feet) away from it.
I went back to see how many cars actually stop there, and out of the 5 cars I watched (along with the cars I see everyday), no one stops there- perhaps they have a hard time seeing it or have a hard time stopping there as well. I don't know if I should contest it, or just pay it and do defensive driving. It's between $203-$250 for the ticket. The thing is, I know there's a sign there, I don't deny that, but it's always been hard for me to stop there without going halfway into the intersection, and then I just keep rolling to stop at the yield sign since it's right there anyways.

Any advice would help. Thanks.

Take an online traffic school, costs about $25.00 and another $10-12 for a drivers license check with DPS.

Complete it, the whole thing never happened.

Or, ask the court for DEFERRED ADJUDICATION (costs more, but much easier), pay the tribute demanded by KING JP, no tickets for 90 days, the whole thing gets cleansed away.

Both are sure fire methods in Texas to eliminate ALL traffic troubles.

You get the online traffic school once every 12 months, and the DEFERRED ADJUDICATION can be done every 90 days.

Any other strategy is just a waste of time and effort.
