Hello
I was wondering if you could help me out here . dec 11th me and my husband met a real estate lady threw Bay City Homes Reality.. we looked at this 3 bedroom modular house for 26,000 well we wanted it.. so i gave the lady the 26,000 certified check.. we signed the paper work she told us it was only on the market for 4 days, and are closing date would be January 15 2011.. Ok today is the 14th she called me back and told me there was another bid on the property, she was not aware of it , for 26,000 also.. she asked me if i wanted to bid more money to insure we can get it.. so i told her i would add another 2,000 and that would be 28,000.. but i was not going to go any higher.. she said she would put the bid in and call me tomorrow.. Ok we all ready signed the paper work.. this kind of sounds fishy to me..so i told my husband if she calls back and tells me i need more money, i,am just going to tell her forget it i want my money back i will go some place else.. so what Advice would you give us about this issue ?.. We are a first time buyer...Thank-You..

This is a tough one. Did you sign a sales contract, or merely submit a bid? If it was a bid, why'd she take your check?

You might have been conned. You should never buy a home without paying a lawyer to review and approve the deal and contract. That might have been your undoing.


Has the check been cashed? Check with the bank. If so, this is very odd. I wouldn't give her another dime.
 
yes i had signed a BAY COUNTY REALTOR ASSOCIATION CONTRACT.. AND EXCLUSIVE BUYER AGENCY CONTRACT.. WHAT IS CALLED ..EXHIBIT " A " ...So if i do not here from her today i will call my lawyer.. thank-you for the Advice...
