Mt friend was pulled over for suspision of drugs and he had 1500 in cash but no drugs. He has a prior drug (marijuana) charge . Is there a certian limit on how much money he can carry . He buys and sells cars and needs cash on hand.

Generally there is no limit to the amt. of cash a person can carry. However, I can see where the police would be concerned about $1500 in cash on someone who was pulled over for suspicion of drugs & had a prior drug charge.

Was he given a ticket, arrested, charged..... - what happened after he was pulled over (what did the police officer do)?

Really? That's what the officer said? "Hi, I'm stopping you because I suspect you of possessing, buying, selling, or transporting drugs." ... ?? Really??

and he had 1500 in cash but no drugs.
How did the officer find the cash? Did your friend admit to it when asked? Did he submit to a search? Did he have any choice not to submit to a search because he is on probation or parole?

He has a prior drug (marijuana) charge .
Is he on probation or parole as a result fo that charge?

Yeah ... because cars often come up for sale for $1,500 at odd hours.

But, in general there is no law against having that much money on you.

Was he arrested? Was the money seized? Did he get issued a ticket? Or, did he merely get sent on his way?
