I purchased a used car just one year ago. During the process of purchasing the car I was told numerous times that the clutch was brand new, when in fact I barely made it home with no clutch. I Had to have it towed back to town for repair. A month and $2,900 later, I had a new clutch at my expense. He couldn't show me proof of the rebuild which was supposedly done 20 years prior. Supposedly the car had been stored for 20 years. I plan to file a small claims action.

Buying a car which supposedly has not been used for 20 years and not expecting any mechanical problems with it is a bit foolish.

Generally you buy a used car as is (buyer beware) - you (yourself) should have had it checked out before purchase. You can certainly "try" a small claims court action.
