reckless driving and speeding

My teenager who is 17 recently got a speeding ticket 87in a 65 zone, and cited for reckless driving with a mandatroy court date. This is her 1st offense on her driving record. Please advise if I should hire a lawyer or just go in for the court date and pay the fees.
