Red Light Camera Ticket-Georgia

I was visiting Georgia ( I live in SC) and apparently was recorded running a red light and received a summons in the mail. My actions, I feel, were justifiable because I thought I might be rear-ended by the vehicle behind me if I stopped. That vehicle went through the red light as well. I was able to view the video online that showed my infraction and the evidence supports my contention that my defensive driving prevented an almost certain accident. The traffic court tells me I must appear in court if I wish to dispute the charge and cannot submit a written statement asking the charge be dismissed for cause. The problem is that I live in another state. It would cost me as much in time and gas to defend myself than to pay the ticket. My question is...what are the rammifications of my just ignoring the ticket?

If you ignore the ticket, they will notify SC to suspend your license. You can go back, retain an attorney, or pay.
