Myself and roommate were both recently let-go (4 days ago) from our plumbing company and were given termination papers saying the reason was for "Reduction in force". The company has already hired new members even though they said they didn't have enough work for us to continue. Do we have any recourse?

Barring a bona fide contract or CBA that specifically says otherwise, they do not have any legal obligation to call back laid off employees before hiring new ones.

If you are interested in returning to work, call and let them know.

We are interested In returning to work of course, there is just no work around, and this company is not the best group of people. They hired another guy the same day we were fired after being told there was not enough work! They don't pay for traveling to job sites 2+ hours away, and play favorites to their family on the crews. im sure none of this is pertinent but I wish we had a better reson for losing 2/3 of our household income ...
