Hello:
My apartment's leasing agreement in Virginia expired in May 2005. At my exit I had an apartment review with the building manager. The manager identified some bleach stains in the carpet and later charged me with $190. There were other stains in the carpet which I recognized as mine.
I reviewed my in-form from May 2004. And I said there that the carpet was clean but marked and 'x' in the comments section. Because there were many comments, I attached a separated sheet of paper with those. In that sheet, I explained that there were some spots in the carpet that looked like an excess of bleach.
The same day I delivered the in-form and my attachment, I received a technician to work-out my other comments. I have a document that shows this visit and the reasons on it match my comments in my attachment.
The renter (a NY real estate company) sent the claim to a credit collection company. I explained my case to this people and after faxing all the papers and an extensive explanation, they said: 'pay or you will be reported. You said the carpet was clean. The only valid form is the in-form'. I asked if they reviewed all my documents and they said: 'talk to the building manager'.
I think I have enough material to show the bleach stains were there. I only want to pay the part of the bill for the other stains.
Thank you.
