Refused Payment Now wants it in full!!

I recently ended my internet service, and the company charged me a $200 disconnect fee, which I knew about. My husband was laid off of work, so I paid half of the bill ($100). The company accepted the payment then 5 days later reversed the payment. They then sent me a collection notice for the entire amount! My question is do I owe them the complete amount or only the remainder amount, or do I owe them anything, considering they refused my payment.???

You still owe them the $200. I would just hold on to the $100 they reversed, then when you have the other $100, send it in all at once. If they start calling then tell them you tried to make a payment and they sent it back, so they will get it all when you have it all. If they even hint at legal action remind them that it wouldn't look good for them to a judge to see that you tried to make a payment on this and they refused.
