Hi! I have a relative of mine that was just convicted of counterfeiting money. He got 33 months in jail. His lawyer told him that he will at least serve 16 months...is that true? Is there any chance he will serve less time than that?
Typically if you're serving state time in the pen, you'll do 1/3 of your sentence. County time is typically 1/2 the sentence. This is the case in my state, anyway.
