Leasing Agent qualified and approved former roommate to be financially able to pay rent on her own thereby releasing my daughter from the lease. My daughter received a call from landlord to come and sign the release as the roommate has agreed to the release and it was approved by the managing leasing agent. On two attempts my daughter went to the leasing office to sign the release and was first told they would have to do a walk-thru before she could sign the release. When she called four days later to do the walk thru the leasing agent informed her that there was no roommate release form and that my daughter's former roommate took the release back and that my daughter is still legally bound by the lease.

Is there any legal remedy for my daughter?

Doesn't sound like it. In order for your daughter to legally get out of her lease, all parties (your daughter, her roommate and management) must agree to this by signing and dating the Release Agreement.
