Rembursement

I was given a job at a company in NM and moved from Florida for it, I was told verbally i would be reimbursed for my moving expenses. Once I arrived in town I was asked by the company to pay for my own motel stay until i could find an apartment due to clerical problems. I filed for expense reimbursement that totaled $3000 and change and have been waiting for more then two months for it. I have since been let go from the company and am still waiting for reimbursement all my emails to finical people within the company state there waiting for the CFO and director to sign off on it. Do I have any legal grounds here?

You can file a civil suit, but with only a "verbal promise", you're going to be hard-pressed to prove that a contract for this reimbursement actually existed.

Having said that, you'd probably be better off waiting it out. It sounds like they haven't refused to pay it outright.
