Hi, I purchased a house, 2BR, 1BA 691sqft. attached there is an addition that was built years ago, approximately 200sqft, reviewing my house records, i realized the addition was legally built and it was considered a sun room.
not knowing the legal ramifications, i tore down the old paneling walls and covered the exterior walls to apply stucco, bad luck knocked on my door, one of my good neighbors called the city complaining about the noise, suddenly a city inspector knocked on my door asking me for my permits, i said i don't have any, i was given 2 days to obtain the permits, i spent 2 days in the city trying to pull the legal permits, how ever it was made so difficult for me to get the permits, i later realized it was because they almost were asking me to hire a contractor. today i got a letter from the city, pull the permits within 30 days or return the room to it's original condition. now I don't know what to do. Please Help.

You could ignore the letter, fight the letter, return the room to its original condition, or get the necessary permits. If you want to get the permits, it sounds like you may need some assistance. You might want to consult a contractor or construction lawyer strictly to handle the permits.
