I was in the process of renovating my home, it is old and needed an uplift. It had taken me a long time to get it moving along, as a lot of personal problems kept stalling its completiion (divorce etc)...but my neighbor complained on the state of my home and it's repairs with things in the back and side yard, and the slowness of the whole work, and called the city on me. Later, an inspector came by to look at the place and sent me a leter stating that my home had several code violations and needed to be fixed. I have just about finished my renovation and I don't have nearly enough money to take care of these violations. I just got laid off from work as well. Now the inspector sent a letter to the city Attorney...and I am scared that I am in criminal trouble or something, even though I don't believe I broke the law...and if I did, I did not mean to. What will the City Attorney do, most likely? Any help?
