rent from 2002?

I have recently recived a phone call from a layer stating that i have unpaid rent from an old apartment back in november of 2002. I am sure i paid this but dont have any prof from that far back. My question is if I am still liable for rent from six years ago?

Perhaps. What state did this take place in? Did you have a written lease when you rented there? Is this for rent or damages?
