My landlord has taken me to court for rental arrears, the judge order him and his lawyer to provide me with a rental breakdown of a zero bal. total rent was 6282. Welfare gave me 3740 and i paid 1596. Will i be able to get more time to pay now that may rent is due in court on 5/2/2011

I can't say from the details you've provided.
I can say that sometimes judges will allow defendants a little extra time if you have some of the money owed.
Say you owe $600 and you have $400.
If all parties agree, you might be allowed an extra week or two to get the additional $200. That assumes you paid the $400 you had.
That isn't a guarantee. You can always ask for time. But, if I were you, I'd do what I could to get ALL of the money I owe.
