rental furniture

My sister rented some furniture for me at christmas thru a furniture rental company, i gave her the money to pay the bill and assumed it was paid. I recieved a phone call stating it had not been paid and if i didnt turn the furniture over they would isssue a warrant for my arrest. Can they do that?

You need to sue your sister for the amount you paid her. This is civil, not criminal I think. If this furniture company threatened you with arrest you should file a complaint. That may be illegal in itself.
