rental increase

My employment has recently ended as a property maintenance worker at the complex in which I reside.
My rent under employment was $400.00 monthly.
The current rent is $835.00 monthly.
Is the landlord required to give me a 30 day written notice before raising my rent to the current rate?
I have no lease.
Tenant at will.
