I live in griffith indiana and the company I rent with is a really big company. At first our late fees were $50 after the 5th of the month. Now they went up to $100 after the 5th and an extra $200 dollars for adminstrative fees after the 15th. So if you are in hard times and cant pay till say the 16th you would have to pay your original rent plus and extra $300 dollars. Is that legal? Is there a cut off on the amount a company can charge for late fees? No one out here know what our rights are as a tenant in Indiana or where to get help to find out. If someone can give me any suggestions on where to find this information or how to get help that would be reall great. There is alot of people in Griffith who need some assistance with this same issue with this company and none of know to get it.
