I recently moved to GA (2 wks ago) after signing initial lease with this landlord. Unfortunately, landlord left the house in a dirty and filthy condition and it was impossible for us to stay in house and had to leave town to stay with relatives. Becaus of this we had to spend thousands of extra dollars. On top of that, landlord is not being co-operative and refused to return our calls or request to clean the house and get necessary repairs done. Currently landlord lives out of State. Todate NO joint inspection done or any document signed by us or landlord for joint inspection.
Is it possible for me to get out of lease at this time given condition of the house and lack of landlord co-operation and get my deposit back? In original lease signed by us, no mention of any penalties if we leave the house with in 1 year of lease.
I have already sent her 2 written notices but no response. My family still out of State because of all this and I am the only one living in the house at this time.
