Hi!
I'm new to this forum, but really hoping for some help. My husband and I moved to another state, and due to the current housing market, we decided to rent our first house rather than selling it. We found some "friends" who wanted to sign a one-year lease. We told them that since we wanted our investment protected, and they were "friends", we would rent to them at our cost. We were not really looking to make a profit on renting, just wanted someone who would take good care of the place. We are now living in another state. We stipulated in the contract that the renter was to maintain yard and landscaping. They said they did not have a problem with that, and signed. They have been living there for 3 months now and I was just informed by some of our former neighbors that they have let the yard go. We have received pictures, and it is terrible. Grass is close to knee-high in the backyard, not much better in the front. All our beautiful flowerbeds are completely grown over with weeds! Things were in great shape when they moved in. What can I do? Is this enough to get them out of my house? At this point, I'd rather just get them out before they can do any more damage! I'm very lucky that no one has reported this to the city yet, because it really is bad. Thanks in advance for the help!
