My husband was driving a semi-truck for his employer through Asheville, NC about a month ago.
As he was turning into a shopping center a lady pulled out in front of him, to avoid hitting her
He drove the truck and trailer into a ditch. When the police officer and wrecker arrived because
He was blocking traffic, he told the officer that he had not been driving the truck because he does
Not have a license. The officer went into the store and upon looking at their parking lot surveillance
Tapes ascertained that he was the only person that got out of the truck. My husband was arrested then
For resisting arrest and has a mandatory court appearance scheduled next month. What are the penalties
For this offense and should we hire an attorney for help with this matter?

Yes, you need a lawyer.

What is/are the statute numbers he is charged under?

This is definitely the case. We can't tell you potential penalties for the offense without knowing the state and the actual charges that he was charged with (as in Penal Code.) The problem with "extensions" is that everyone would be claiming poverty and nobody would get to court, if you know where I'm going with this one. Is there no bus that will get you in the vicinity? It might take a while but it will get you there. I'm curious, what were you told by the court?
