Five years ago my then 20 year old daughter went to the emergency room on her own. The hosp. called to verify that she was eligeble to use my insurance which she was. The non-covered portion of the hospital bill was sent to me. At the time of recieving the bill I called the hospital to have them take it out of my name and send it to my daughter They said something to the effect that "my insurance only pays bills that I would be responsible for not ones thats my daughter would be responsible for". As an adult shouldn't the bill have been sent to her even though I was claiming her as my dependant at the time and she was using my insurance? Five years later the unpaid bill is stinking up my credit score. Am I wrong here?

A: Based solely on your version, you are liable.
