I've called everyone I could think of and still no solution. Here's my problem.

Employed with HSA, Inc. since 2/15/06 and received 2 promotions in that time. I have never received any reprimands, verbal or written warnings. I was in a program that worked with the Seminole County Sherriff's Office(SCSO)-Child Protection Services Unit. 6/9/08 I was advised that the SCSO -Child Protection Services had informed HSA they were no longer willing to give me cases as they felt I was sabotaging case which is a false allegation. I was removed from my position & my options were to take a transfer to another program at a salary is $27k, which is a $5k pay cut (4pm-12am shift) or be terminated. I am being retaliated against due to reporting to DCF and documenting that Seminole County Sherriff's Child Investigators have all either falsified documentation in Florida Safe Families Network or have omitted pertinent facts in their documentations of child investigations which is a 3rd degree felony per Florida State Statute 39. 6/9/08 I requested a letter from the VP of HR stating why I was being removed from my position and being transferred into another position. 6/10/08 the VP contacted me stating that she was not going to set a precedent by putting it in writing.

In an "at will" state a company can fire, demote etc you for any or no reason long as its lawful. Now retaliation could make the demotion unlawful. Problem is can you prove that the demotion was in retaliation to your reporting the crime or can employer show some wrongdoing on your part that would cause demotion? You might be in the right here but if you cant prove it your dead.

No they can not prove I did any wrong doing even they said that. Like I said till this day no write up or verbal warnings. My supervisor even said she told them my cases were perfect. The explaination I get from them about how they can justify this is that they don't have to, since its a funding provider, SCSO, they have to do what they want. Even that is not true Dept of Children and Families is the funding provider. As for proof I have my documentation in the DCF computer system and it totally contridicts what the Child Investigators documented in the DCF computer system.

Then if you choose to fight this action you can take it to proper agency and/or your Attorney. Be prepared to seek new employment afterwards though. Not because they will terminate you but because your relatinship with your employer will be in toilet. Do not get me wrong I am not discourageing you from fighting for your rights just letting you know things are likely to be very unpleasant afterwards

Well having to take $5k pay cut and being put on a 4pm-12am shift ( I have never worked past 4:30pm) is pretty unpleasant already. I'm already in the process of seeking new employment. As a social worker I can not afford to work for a company that treats employees this way especially when that employee has worked there for 2yrs and 5mths, received 2 promotions in that time, has great annual evaluations and no write ups. You see on the news everyday DCF and them not doing their job in regards to child safety, I can't afford to have my career tainted after 9 years of being in the social work field.
