I gave my employer advance notice stating that I was planning on quitting within the month therefore they should begin looking for a new host. I made it clear that this was not my two weeks notice yet. Another host let me know that all my hours were crossed off so I went in to find out why, and the manager that was there couldnt come up with a reason.

The hours that I had for next week were crossed off, after they had been posted for days. My hours were distributed amongst other hosts. The HR number was not posted so I had to ask a manager for it. I called HR, but I feel like I need to take this further.

There is nothing to take further. Once you indicate to your employer that you are planning on quitting, that IS your notice and they may legally take you up on it. Nothing they have done violates any laws. They don't have to give you a reason.

Rule of thumb; don't EVER tell your employer you are planning on leaving unless you are prepared for that day to be your last one.

You can file for unemployment and you *might* get it for at least that portion of the month that you had intended to work.

Thanks for your reply!
They are allowed to just cross off hours that you had under your name with no reason or notice? I don't understand, it wasn't a formal two weeks notice and I let him know that it wasn't and that was to come within the month.

Call it what you wish you gave notice. Your employer chose to accept your resignation right away. It was legal you have no actions you can take outside of looking for new work

Yes. They are allowed to just cross off hours that you had under your name with no reason or notice.

Unless you have a bona fide, legally enforceable contract that guarantees BOTH that you will always have x number of hours every week AND that you are guaranteed work until the last day of any notice period (whether a firm notice or just an advance warning of notice) it is completely, totally and 100% up to your employer what hours you work.
