My jurisdiction is: Louisiana
I have been arrested for violating R.S. 14:69 Illegal possession of stolen things. The items were located, on the exterior side of my home. My home was searched as well and some 70 items were seized from the inside. All 70 items came back clean and registered to me. The question I need help with is this. If I have a notarized paper stating that I had traded some 10 firearms 6 (six) months prior to the Arrest for a Boat and the firearms were to be stored at my house (I traded my older Brother) could he bring this to the DA and take possession of the firearms. (FYI there was around 47 firearms seized) only 10(ten) were involved in the trade. They are listed as make manufacture and serial number on the paper. One last thing the Boat in question is worth as much or more than the value of the firearms. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated
