Reversal of Sole Custody

I have been involved in a 3-year custody battle with my vindictive ex where the court granted him sole custody of our 12-year old daughter because of the ongoing conflict between the two of us. Prior to this we had shared custody. Since he has been given sole custody, he has done nothing but try to alienate and sabotage my relationship with our daughter. Since he has been granted sole custody, my daughter has gained in excess of 30 pounds and has really become emotionally distraught. When we had shared custody, I had my daughter in counseling which she was making tremendous progress. Once her father was given sole custody, he immediately stopped the therapy which has caused my daughter to spiral downward.I am deeply concerned about my daughter and am exhausted and terribly disappointed by the Kansas judicial system. I have always been the primary caregiver of my daughter but because her father is able to pay for the high dollar attorneys, I have always been at a disadvantage. Is there anything that I can do?

I'm very sorry to hear about this and it is depressing. While others here are more experienced in family law matters, may I inquire as to why your ex has sole custody of your daughter? It is highly unusual and I am guessing that your answer might affect some of your options.

The circumstances leading up to Dad getting sole custody may be critical to the issue, yes.

When was sole custody ordered? A timeline would be very helpful.

If the OP decides to post again, she probably wont, I would also like to know if the father's care is hurting the child rather emotionally or physically, what has she done about it? CPS been involved?

In my opinion, OP has done something to lose custody, and the claims she made would never be substantiated and custody will remain with the father due to no COC.
