My son Preston was in jail for 10 months. While he was in jail his fiancee died of an asthma attack. He signed a paper giving his sister temporary guardianship until he got out. His deceased fiancees parents picked the three year old up for a visit and went to a judge and had temporary guardianship given to them. My son is not in jail and they have had makenzie for a year now. He does see her when our family has visits. We went to the courthouse and filed for temporary guardianship to be revoked. The sheriff would not assist in retrieving the child. he said get an attorney and go to court. My son has not lost his parental rights. Why cant we get the child? Please help with some answers.
