I'm currently residing as an individual without a dwelling in the city of Santa Monica. A place that use to be fairly welcoming of the less fortunate but as of late has become a garden of greed and thus trying to extricate the homeless from this tourist trap. The homeless here are being treated with lack of dignity, respect, and humanity. I'm currently in conjunction with Ron Taylor protesting the unfair, unconstitutional camping law. The city has pretty much privatized every nook and cranny to make it illegal to sleep anywhere...however they only seem to enforce this at night and near downtown close to the promenade which is where we are making our protest.....please help us with any and all information that is relative to us as the unfortunate victims of various issues that will aid us and enable us to procure our place back in the seat of civilization and at the table of humanity. Thank you! Signed Kevin Badway

And even if you DO get permission from a property owner, camping (at least for prolonged periods and without adequate facilities) may also be prohibited in the city.

You do not have a "right" to pitch a tent on the property of others, to obstruct public ways, leave filth, excrement, or other debris in public, etc. There are alternatives even if they are not perfect nor permanent.
