Rights to my home

I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction. My boyfriend and I have lived together for 1 1/2 years. The house we live in is in his name. He bought the house in Aug of 06 and I moved in Dec of 06. We have remodeled our home that both of us have paid for. We share in monthly bills as well. The problem is everything is in his name (house stuff). We also have cars and credit cards that are in both of our names. What I am looking for is some kind of contact between the two of us. I just want some kind of protection if something was to go wrong with us and since we are not married I don't want to get screwed. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Have your boyfriend sit down in front of an attorney so your name can be added to the deed to the house and to the other items you claim you have ownership of. Good Luck!

Is there anyway of doing it without changing the deed?

If you are not paying for part of the mortgage or don't want to claim the house if something happens to him, then you don't need to do anything with the deed. Good Luck!
