I have got sole legal custody and shared physical custody w my ex getting our son every other wkend as of March 2016...my son turned 17 in June...his dad told him that he can do whatever he wants...so he ran off to his dad's for the summer...ignoring going to weights...7 on 7...football camps...school starts next week and he wants to live with his dad and go to school here...his dad lives out of my district where he wants to go to school...his dad doesn't like school or has ever attended any of his parent teacher conferences...I want him at home where he Is taught respect and is taught how to take responsibility when he gets out of school...he is a good kid...but him being up there has changed his attitude and his priorities...what are my rights as a parent to get him back home and in his school district...does my son have rights at 17 in Missouri...

Simple, you go to the city (take your certified court custody order with you), or area where dad lives.
Visit the local police station, or sheriff's office.
Ask the person in charge if you can have an officer meet you at the father's address so that you might collect your child.

Make sure dad and child are home, before you try it, otherwise the trip will be useless.

Your other solution is to return to court, schedule a contempt hearing, wait, argue the point, etc...

That, however, will burn the little daylight you have left to help the kid.

Unfortunately, if you are successful, the kid will run away again, or wait until he's 18 and go nuts with the head peanut anyway.

Your call, madam, your call.
