My son was throwing rock in front of our apartment. Our neighbors came home and parked in front where he was throwing the rocks. He hit their car and they called the police. Try said it was for insurance purposes. Now they are refusing to call tier insurance and are telling me I have to pay for the whole repair. Do I have to pay for it or do they have to contact their insurance company?

What would YOU want THEM to do if their kid did that to your car?

Have you rewarded, punished, or ignored your kid for throwing rocks?

The right thing to do would be for you to pay for damage. If someone else's kid damaged your car, wouldn't you want that kid's parents to pay for damage?

If you are not sharp enough to know the answer, I think you should not only be sued, your landlord should evict you for creating a nuisance.

YOU are responsible for what your son did, whether you pay for the damage personally or through your insurance. If you do not pay and you are sued you will most likely lose the argument.
