Roommate claims she is my landlord and can evict me

I live in a house shared by three renters. The house owner likes to deal with only one person, so he signed a month-to-month rental agreement with one of the three renters, named Terry. This written agreement does not forbid her from subrenting rooms to others (in fact the landlord expects it.) I have no written agreement with the house owner, or with Terry. Today I received a written 30-day notice to quit from Terry.

Since Terry is a month-to-month renter like me, does she have the right to give me notice, or even evict me?

She claims she has an oral agreement with me. But I agreed only that she would collect the rent, and take primary responsibility for renting vacant rooms and communicating with the landlord. I never agreed that she had the right to kick me out. Terry and I have both lived here only 9 months.

The house owner is aware that Terry has given me notice, and thinks it's fine. I'm hoping that my 30-day clock will only start when I get notice directly from the landlord. What say you all?

In addition, there is no just cause for her notice, and there is no just cause listed on the notice. Is this a factor?
