I rent an apartment with a roommate. Both of our names are on the lease. My roommate has fallen into financial hardship and has been unable to pay his half of the rent for a few months. I have continued to pay my half and let the landlord know about the situation. My roommate is now filing for bankruptcy and moving out of the apartment. I would like to know what type of action may be taken against me, what I am liable for in terms of the portion of the rent he owes, if I can get out of my lease early since one of the parties signed on the lease is moving out, how long I have before I am evicted, if it comes to that. Any information that you can help me with would be greatly appreciated.

You will be responsible for the entire rent if your lease is typical as you've mentioned you jointly signed the lease. Eviction is up to the landlord. You don't want that to happen as you'll then be responsible for those costs as well.
