Roomate Roommate Issues

My roommate and I are no longer compatible. I have major concerns on how she treats our apt. The Leasing office says that we can give a 60 day notice plus 1 month's rent to terminate the lease, but both of us must sign the notice. My roommate refuses to sign the notice and says that she will sue it I don't pay my half of the rent. We have discussed our issues but she continues to not abide by any agreements that we make between us. Am I stuck in this situation? Is there anyway that I can leave without being financially liable?

If you just leave, your roommate would be responsible to the landlord for the full amount of rent. If your roommate wants back any rent you would have paid that she ends up paying, she can try suing you for what you would have owed if you had remained.
