I have been asking all over for advice about this matter.
An ex roommate of mine (we have both left the apartment) recently left a voicemail on my phone stating that she had received a $288 bill for equipment from the cable company that was left behind in the apartment when she left. she was supposed to return the equipment but did not. She is trying to tell me that since I left the apartment last I should have turned the stuff in, but I told her it was not my responsibility, and that it was hers since the bill was not in my name (I was not even an authorized user or anything like that). She is trying to tell me that I am some how responsible for the bill. I believe I am not and that she doesn't even have any viable grounds for taking me to small claims court. I called the cable company and university I rent from and they both agree with me.
