Hi,
I need some expert advise. I'm currently renting a mobile home in Sunnyvale,
Ca and have been for the past 4 years. I decided to rent out 1 of the bedrooms to a friend about 3 1/2 years ago. I now want my friend to move
out because he's broken our "rental contract rules". He agrees to leave, but
then won't go after I've given him his Eviction Notice. I've even had to call
the Sunnyvale Police Department a few times because my friend drinks also uses drugs and goes off the deep end at times. The Police informs me that I just can't kick him out that I have to give him a notice, which I have already done so. I also feel as the Police is not working with me to bring resolution
to this problem.
I care about my friend and dont' want to see him homeless,
but at the same time I need peace in my life. My friend constantly likes to
get into arguments about anything and everything.
I'm a Church going Christian, which he also used to be. In fact that's where we first meet, in Church. But he now refuses to go to Church or attend any Drug and Alcohol classes for help. Well he did attended 1 class last year at the Church, but now refuses to go back to the class and to Church.
The Police also informs me that I should contact the California Dept Of
Consumer Affairs which I have read information from their website; as well
as from the California Tenant Rights website: www.dca.ca.gov
All of the information I've read speaks of hiring a lawyer for help to get
my friend removed. If I had the money I would, just to finally have some
peace of mind.
I'm also currently talking with Project Sentienel in Sunnyvale, Ca. This agency was referred to me by the Sunnyvale Police Dept. This agency is
trying to talk with my friend to convince him to leave on his own. I'm praying that this will work, since my friend is only a lodger at my rental mobile home
and is NOT ON MY LEASE.
Any information and guidance to get this situation resolved will be greatly
