roommates kicked her out - is she responsible for rent

Our neice is on a lease with 2 other people. They have kicked her out of the apartment and taken her keys. How do we go about getting her name off the lease? Is she still responsible for her portion of the rent? If the home is raided for illegal activity while she is not living in the apartment (but still on the lease) and is living back home with her parents, is she responsible for the conduct in the apartment? She is fearful that should she go to get her furniture out of the apartment, the other tenants will "plant" contraband and point the fingers at her. What should she do?

Unless she was paying rent to othe roomates (subleasing) they cannot kick her out and even then they must follow that states requirements to do so. Tell her to contact Landlord and explain the situation

Thank you and we will have her contact the landlord to see if she can get out of the lease. What about her liability for actions and behaviors that take place while she is not in residence?

With her not there I cant see how she will be accountable. However it depends on the situation. She can discuss that with the Attorney
