Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse sale to a minor 17 years old no prior

My 17 yr old was arrested for sell to a minor. class d felony. he has no prior record and all this stems from a 15 yr old caught with marijuana at school. The 15 yr old said he bought it from my son at home. It was a $30 bag. My son cooperated with the school and police and answered all thier questions without a parent there. Now he is being brought up on charges. how do we get these charges reduced? He is willing to do a drug treatment program and seems to have really awoke to reality. New York State.

He will need to speak with an attorney. There is nothing specifically YOU can do to get charges "reduced". His attorney can speak to the DA and possibly work out a deal to treatment and diversion, but that depends on the laws in your un-named state and the specific charges alleged.
