SC speeding ticket, licensed in NC, QUESTIONS

My husband was driving through Darlington County SC and got a speeding ticket for 56 in a 35. On the ticket the cop wrote Careless Operation $400, State Bond $200. My question is will C.O. go on his NC license. Can he ask for a prayer for judgment in SC if he is a NC resident?? PLEASE HELP!!

South Carolina Careless Operation

I have seen a lot of SC speeding tickets but this is a strange one. This must be some type of local ordinance since the state fine for reckless driving is usually only 350. An over 15 mph ticket will result in an automatic suspension and a huge insurance increase. SC is very different from NC. There is no PFJ or traffic school option and they do report to NC. I suggest an attorney but it will not be cheap, probably around 500.

this is in a SMALL town called Society Hill SC that has like 5 cops. I just called and they said if he paid $400 it would be a careless operation and no points would go on his license or insurance.

Its a city ordinance that is usually not reported to the DMV. That way the city gets to keep all the money. 400 is unusual for this offense, most cities only charge 200.
