So about mid December of last year (2005), I purchased a Dell 700m laptop from ebay for $625. Everything checked out, the guy 100% rating, had sold big ticket items and everything seemed legit. I even went as far as to research who he was, and called him on his office number. Of course, shortly after purchasing the laptop, he stops responding to any of my emails. I would call and he would lie to me and say he sent out the laptop, and when I ask as to why it was not here yet, he would simply hang up on me. I file a complaint to paypal around January, and I win, but was only able to recover the amount that paypal/ebay covers ($175) (he withdrew all the money so I couldn't recover funds).
The irony of it all, and the thing that makes me sick to my stomach, is that this guy is a licensed criminal attorney. He even has his own website. (www.lenkornberg.com). In the past months I decided to let it slide, but the more I think about it, the more aggitated I get about the whole situation. I wish there was a way I could bring him to justice. I would call local enforcement, but I am not sure if there is a time limit in which i was suppose to report the situation. If there is a way to stop this thief or to suspend his practice I would like to know. Any help would be fantastic.
