I have taken Capella Univ courses since 2008, part-time at night, on line. There have been 4 occurrences when a course requirement has changed, been added, or amended after I enrolled with a pre-planned course of study program for my Masters and Certificate. Does a school have the right to change the requirements? Can a school force one student to adhere to the change, but not another enrolled student? What type of attorney handles cases like this?

Generally speaking, most colleges/universities have a handbook that follows you through your program and requirements for your degree do not change, even though new program admittances will need to adhere to them. I suggest you consult your student handbook.

Thank you "disagreeable" for your response to my concern. The online guide does not cover this matter. This is an online university and it is accredited through NASP, yet their actions have been beyond questionable. What type of attorney handles cases like this? I'd like to go speak with someone who knows that the university is allowed to do, and what type of proof I need.
thanks again!

You should not need an attorney for this.
Have you personally contacted the school or just been reading over web pages?
The curriculum for your course was set when you began the program. The website likely reflects changes in the current curriculum, but you still take the courses required prior to the change.
You need to be on the phone with the school to get your answers.
If you are not getting the answers you need then perhaps contact NASP.

Thank you, I will contact NASP. I have already communicated with the president's office, and the professor in charge of the department.
I really appreciate your advice. ty
