School zone

Was pulled over by an officer who said he laser locked me going 40 mph in a 20 mph school zone. Normal speed limit in the area is 45 mph. I do not remember if the school zone's flashing lights were on or not. It was 8:25 am. I now have to appear at court for the ticket. What can I expect? Is there any thing I can say in my defense?

School zones are real revenue earners for local governments.

That is to say, it won't matter what you say.

They'll convict you, throw the book at you, and take lots of your money.

The only excuses I know about that gotten people off is they were rushing someone to the hospital with a medical emergency.

You can't even take traffic school with one of those tickets.

It might be easier to beat a ticket for urinating in the judges private parking spot than for speeding in a school zone. Who knows though.
