I received a ticket for no seat belt while making a turn from a gas station after filling gas to a pharmacy right across the street wihout being belted. The cop said since he had to meet his quota, he was going to give me two tickets, one for no seat belt, one for illegal turn.
I showed up for the first summons with full proof of receipt from gas station showing what time i filled gas and the time i got the ticket a few minutes later, along with photos showing that no sign indicating i could not turn from gas station to pharmacy. The clerk took my not guilty pleas and told me to leave. This was in 1997!!! I never heard back.
Now i get two notices saying i should pay the tickets ($105)...and the other saysr that my "original" court date of 09/08/1999 has been recheduled for 07/27/2006.
I threw away all the papers relating to this a while ago since after i went to the original court appearance and pleaded not gulity and didnt hear back for years, I presumed it was over.
Now this comes again.
What should I do?
Thanks

I would go by the court and get a copy of the tickets and find out the name of the officer. It is quite likely he is no longer there.

Right to a speedy trial?

You might want to look into using your right to a speedy trial in this case. I'm not positive it works in this case though.
