Is this legal?
1. 1/21/08: Signed 1 year lease
2. 3/7/09: Gave 30 day notice via email.
3. 4/6/09: Moved out of cleaned apt. and gave keys back to landlord's office.
4. 4/22/09: Received Security deposit statement along with a check for deposit after $$ taken out.
5. 4/22/09: Inquired to property management regarding deposit charges. Statement said that cleaning will be billed within 2 weeks.
6. 4/25/09: Received letter from property manager dated 4/23/09 stating they are in receipt of my security deposit dispute.
8. 5/14/09: Received evised security deposit statement from manager requesting payment for an additional money.
Can the property manager request for money after the 21 days?
Can the property manager charge for paint (per their attached invoice)? States no damanges on invoice. Note that on move in of apt, it is stated that only touch up paint was applied.
Now I am being charged for painting the entire place?
I know I have a few questions, but I want to see my rights as a tenant.
