I have lived in the same rental property for 11 years. About three years ago the landlord sold the apartment to a new owner. The new owner has sold it to someone who wants to take over the property. I have been given 30 days notice and the current landlord said that she doesn't think she is responsible to refund me the security deposit since they didn't own the apartment when I paid it. She said that I should have gotten it from the landlord before the house was sold. I think that the new owner should have obtained the security deposit. Who is correct here?
