security deposit/ unsafe living

I paid 1 month and 2 months securtity to move in a place stayed there for 4 1/2 years was on moth 2 month after a year.... The place always had problems break ins and unsafe living conditions break ins etc.... Finally couldnt take it any more gave them a letter with 30 days notice and wanted to be present for the inspection a month has passed when i called for the security deposit they told me i wouldnt get one back because of sum things being wrong wit the apt... I took pictures when i left an nothing was wrong also too pics of what was wrong throughtout the time i lived there... What can i do ???
