My lease is up and I have a new landlord you just got the building. My concern is does the new owner of the building have the right to keep my security deposit when they have stated they are remodeling. I feel that a new landlord specially when sold as is should not be keeping my security deposit for any reason unless there is malicious damage or huge holes in walls etc. Or is it just like the old one that no matter what they can nit pick and keep what they feel? Of course I am trying to not give new owner any reason to keep it but he is not a very nice person and i am scared he will keep it. He is only kicking me and the other tenant out because he just wants people in there that can represents his company so he gave us 30 days to get out. I have two kids and luckily found something but i need every penny i put in.
